Ferrari broke the curfew last night
The Scuderia worked overnight on Carlos Sainz's race car to install a new engine.

Tonight, Ferrari broke the curfew to work on Carlos Sainz’s single-seater. The Scuderia used one of its two jokers, allowed per season, to replace the Spaniard’s engine.
Charles Leclerc’s teammate is using his third power unit of the season. This change does not incur a penalty for him, as he is still within the limit set for a season. However, the son of the double rally world champion could face a penalty at the end of the season if he has to change the engine again.
Last night, the staff of the Scuderia Ferrari team, who are involved in the operation of the car, were within the confines of the circuit during the nine and a half hour period that began at 11:30 p.m. on July 30, twelve and a half hours before the scheduled start time of FP3 and ending three hours before the scheduled start time of FP3 at 9:00 a.m. on July 31, as indicated in the FIA statement.
« It was the first of the two individual exceptions allowed for the Scuderia Ferrari team during the Formula 1 championship season and therefore no action should be taken. »
