Red Bull has just experienced two complicated weeks. And for good reason, the team only collected two points during these two Grand Prix. That’s saying something. An unsatisfactory result for the team. Christian Horner, the team’s director, promised that Red Bull will come back strong after the summer break.

« These two weeks have been difficult, but things can change very quickly. There is still a long way to go in this championship.

This particular first part of the season could prove him right. Red Bull have already won six races. Which is not insignificant. With these impressive performances, Max Verstappen even had a thirty-two point lead over Hamilton in the drivers’ championship. And if he eventually finds himself in second place with a six-point deficit, all is not lost.

Times are tough for Red Bull. In two weeks, the team lost the lead in the constructors’ championship to its rival, Mercedes. Twelve points separate the two teams. At Silverstone, Verstappen suffered a terrible accident after a duel with Hamilton. Sergio Perez finished sixteenth. In Hungary, Valtteri Bottas collided with both Red Bull cars. While Perez retired from the race, the Dutch driver fought well to finish ninth. Horner is looking forward to resuming the season. According to him, the battle is far from over.

(c) Just like in Azerbaijan and Silverstone, it wasn’t Verstappen’s fault in Hungary. Our luck is going to change. Over the course of the season, things will balance out and I can’t wait to be in the second half of the year.

Significant damage to repair.

Red Bull will have to repair the significant damage caused by the accidents. Before the Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen was forced to change his third engine. Perez will also have to change his engine for the restart. Both drivers will be penalized on the grid when they switch to a fourth engine during the season. Christian Horner shared his frustration before going on vacation. The best is yet to come.

We have a lot of damage and potentially lost two engines because of other drivers. It’s very frustrating. We are entering the summer break. We’ve had a lot of bad luck in the last two races. It was pretty brutal in terms of damage, parts, and engines. But we will get back on track and we will fight for the second half of the championship.
