After Sergio Perez, it’s Max Verstappen’s turn to be supported by his team. The Dutchman is engaged in a fierce battle against Hamilton. The two drivers are only eight points apart. An intense duel that is far from over.

At the end of the Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen was leading the championship with 32 points. But his collision with Hamilton in the first lap at Silverstone and the accidents in Hungary made him lose the first place.

Adrian Newey, the technical director of Red Bull, knows the mindset of his driver and he knows he can bounce back: He has the same steely determination as any world champion. He can leave mistakes behind and hope for the next race. His driving abilities are obviously superb and he has become a great racer. He has not really made any mistakes this year.

The Austrian team has never been so close to putting an end to Mercedes’ domination. Since the beginning of the season, the Dutchman has been delivering good performances. There are still many races to go before the driver can lift his first championship title. Newey has no doubt about Verstappen. « I don’t think the pressure of the current situation affects him. He is very easy to talk to and has a wide range of interests. Max has a very good balance in this respect », he explained.

Red Bull has only twelve points behind its rival. The road is still long as we are only halfway through the season. The battle promises to be fierce!
