Red Bull does not want to compromise either 2021 or 2022
Christian Horner stated that his team would not accept any compromises on the development of their car. The goal is to secure the first place in the constructors' championship.

As the battle rages for the top spot in the constructors’ standings, Red Bull has not wished to stop the development of its current car to focus on 2022. The next year is fast approaching with its new regulations. Some teams have already decided to stop the development of their single-seater to focus on the upcoming season, like Mercedes.
The Austrian team decided during the first half of the season to make a series of improvements to its car with the aim of winning the world title, its fifth in the history of Formula 1. Christian Horner, the team’s boss, said that Red Bull will not sacrifice its performances even though F1 is about to enter a new era.
« It is rooted in us. It is not in our culture to give up on any season. Of course, we also have the constraints of the budget cap, which makes the task more difficult. Each race is an opportunity and that means the team must work a little harder and longer to be ready to face the challenge.
Horner is not really surprised to see his direct competitor stop development of their 2021 car so early in the season. Budget constraints and the context of Covid-19 are inevitably having an impact on the teams.
(e) I don’t know what their constraints are. It’s a larger organization than ours, so cost capping has a significant impact on their planning and how they have managed during the Covid period. I can’t judge other organizations without knowing all the facts.
The team manager prefers to focus on his stable, regardless of the decisions of other teams. The goal is to win a new constructor’s championship title and a first one for Verstappen.
We have managed to keep the team very close-knit. What I can do is focus on what we are doing, and we are very comfortable with the approach we are taking. If they have a two-second lead on us in the first race next year, it will be disappointing. But I think we have more or less the right balance at the moment.
