Belgian Grand Prix – Presentation and predictions from the editorial staff
At the dawn of the twelfth round of this 2021 season, all eyes will be on the Hamilton/Verstappen and Mercedes/Red Bull duels. We are starting a new series of three races in three weekends at Spa-Francorchamps, the editorial team presents the Grand Prix to you and gives you its predictions.

After a well-deserved summer break, the struggle resumes with renewed vigor.
This is a crucial race for the championship: Max Verstappen has to win to bounce back…
On his side, Lewis Hamilton has the keys in hand to increase his lead in the championship and strike a blow to his opponents a little more.
A technical track, fast and hilly where the weather can be unpredictable
The Belgian Grand Prix takes place in the Belgian Ardennes, on the Spa-Francorchamps track. In addition to the always very uncertain weather in this massif, the technicality specific to this track could come and disrupt things and thus spice up the unfolding of this Belgian weekend.
On the calendar since the creation of the Formula 1 World Championship, the race has been held at Spa since 1985. It is a spectacular seven-kilometer track. It owes its nickname “The Roller Coaster of the Ardennes” to its elevation changes, long straights, and technical, fast corners.
It will be necessary to complete 44 laps and thus cover 308 km to finish this Belgian Grand Prix.
Track records
Séance | Driver | Times | Année | |
1 | Qualifications | Charles Leclerc | 1:42’519 | 2019 |
2 | Course | Valtteri Bottas | 1:46’286 | 2018 |
Tires
This is the mid-range. At the ends, we do not find the hardest or the softest. The tires provided by Pirelli are therefore the compounds C2, C3, and C4.
It’s finally R A C E W E E K!

Editor’s predictions
For once we are very divided in our predictions. On one side, some think that the rain will once again disrupt the established order. So Ferrari would emerge victorious from an elimination race, with Charles Leclerc in the lead.
Another part of the editorial is betting on a new Hamilton/Verstappen battle.
The advantage is with Hamilton for the timed lap exercise. In the race, the trend reverses with Verstappen ahead of Hamilton and then Bottas or Leclerc.
Regardless, if the rain gets involved, we will once again be treated to a great show and many twists and turns.
