OFFICIAL: Kimi Räikkönen announces his retirement!
The Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen has just announced through his social networks that his adventure in Formula 1 will come to an end at the end of this 2021 season.

It was a rumor that was growing more and more, it is now a certainty: Kimi Räikkönen will no longer be a Formula 1 driver from next season. The Alfa Romeo driver, through an Instagram post, announced his withdrawal from the top category:
« Here we are. This will be my last season in Formula 1. It’s a decision I made last winter. It was not an easy decision but after this season, it’s time for me to do new things. » he wrote.
The Finn takes the opportunity to thank all the people who have mattered during his long journey as an F1 driver and reveals that he already has many ideas about his future.
(e) Even though the season is still ongoing, I want to thank my family, all my teams, all the people involved in my career as a driver, and especially all of you, the great fans who have supported me all this time. Formula 1 is coming to an end for me, but there are many things in life that I want to experience and enjoy. See you soon after all this!
This news, although expected, still has the effect of a bomb in the stratosphere of Formula 1, so much was Iceman a popular figure in the paddock.
A new cycle is also starting at Alfa Romeo, which should probably welcome Valtteri Bottas as a replacement for its current driver.
Whatever happens, Kimi Räikkönen will have left his mark in Formula 1, he who counts 21 victories and 18 poles in the premier category that partly led him to win the 2007 world championship. The Finn is also the driver with the most races under his belt with no less than 342 Grand Prix competed, an ongoing series.
Thank you and congratulations Kimi!
