Italian Grand Prix – Penalties: Bottas will start from the back of the grid
Mercedes has decided to take advantage of this Grand Prix to change Valtteri Bottas' engine. His penalty will apply on Sunday and not Saturday.
A wildcard for Mercedes.
Mercedes needed to change their Finnish driver’s engine. At Monza, it will be easy for Valtteri Bottas to move up to the top positions.
Hamilton will not benefit from the help of his teammate during the race, but will take advantage of the performance deficit of the Red Bull to try to win the race.
His penalty will only be applied at the time of the race. He will therefore start the sprint race on Saturday from the front.
