Italian Grand Prix – Huge disappointment for Pierre Gasly
As his weekend started in the best possible way, it ended in the worst possible way ruining any chance for the Frenchman to finish in the points.

Pierre Gasly arrived in Monza full of hope boosted by his victory last year on the same circuit and his 4th place finish at Zandvoort.
The AlphaTauri driver confirmed his good form on Friday by qualifying his modest single-seater in 6th position. It is the 11th time this season that the number 10 driver has qualified in the Top 6.
Unfortunately, he lacked the sprint race. Colliding with the rear of Daniel Ricciardo’s car, Gasly was forced to retire and start at the back of the grid for Sunday’s race.
His chances of scoring points were reduced even before the start of the race, as they were reduced to dust due to reliability issues with his Honda engine unit.
« We had an issue with the car so we decided to give up. Losing both cars in one lap is a shame. I really don’t have the words.
After the miracle of 2020, this 2021 edition of the Monza Grand Prix is a nightmare for the Normand who did not have the opportunity to show what he was capable of.
