6,338 COVID-19 screening tests, 8 positive cases in Italy
6,338 COVID-19 screening tests were carried out during the week of the Italian Grand Prix. 8 people tested positive.

As tradition dictates this season, the FIA is sharing the figures related to COVID-19. The pandemic continues to be present and Formula 1 is still monitoring its progress. It is important for the FIA and F1 to be transparent about this. Between Monday 6 and Sunday 12 August in Italy, 6,338 screening tests were conducted on drivers, teams, and personnel. Among them, 8 people tested positive.
At Monza, the conditions were strict, from staff to fans, including teams and drivers. There was a decrease in positive cases compared to recent weeks. In Belgium, 15 people tested positive out of 6,449 tests.
To be noted that FIA personnel, F1 and journalists undergo testing at least every five days to be on site during the Grand Prix. A driver who tests positive cannot take part in a race, as was the case with Kimi Räikkönen. The Finn did not participate in the Zandvoort and Monza races.
