Aston Martin is building a new F1 factory and a wind tunnel
Aston Martin is building a brand new factory and adding a wind tunnel. A huge campus that will allow the team to improve its performances. Lawrence Stroll doesn't hide his ambitions.

Lawrence Stroll is a very ambitious man. After the name change to become Aston Martin, Stroll now wants to build a brand-new F1 factory and wind tunnel. The goal is obviously to do everything to compete for the top three positions. In a statement, the Chairman of Aston Martin explains how cutting-edge design will be the key to bringing out the best in a rapidly expanding team.
His idea comes from a Kevin Costner movie, Field of Dreams, released in 1989. In this movie, Costner plays the role of an Iowa farmer who builds a baseball field in his cornfield. This field summons the ghosts of legendary baseball players from the past. Far from the idea of bringing back the best F1 drivers to his new factory, Lawrence Stroll, however, seeks to attract the right people to achieve his goal.
I have decided to design the new Formula 1 factory of Aston Martin with this concept in mind. We already have a fantastic team of people working together in a small but very functional factory environment. But we want to improve this workspace.
This new factory will have larger and higher quality facilities, proximity to neighboring services, and more spaces to meet and communicate. The aim of this large-scale construction is also to provide the staff with the best possible working conditions.
« We have also learned a lot more: people dedicate their lives to Formula 1 and they need facilities that help them live happily and in good health at their workplace. […] The result, I hope you will agree, is spectacular. In addition to providing people with the cutting-edge equipment and resources they need to work properly, we have expanded our ideas to create the ultimate work environment. »
This campus will also bring a new wind tunnel, allowing the team to increase its capacity to develop and refine its aerodynamic performance.
The campus will host our brand new wind tunnel – the first time the team has a state-of-the-art aerodynamic facility on site – significantly increasing our ability to develop and refine our aerodynamic performance. For our technical team, this will be a huge and significant step forward.
Aston Martin and Lawrence Stroll are no longer hiding their ambitions. The idea is clearly to significantly improve their performance in F1. And at the dawn of the new era, the timing is perfect.
