Russian Grand Prix – A race to forget for Pierre Gasly
It was a very complicated Grand Prix for Pierre Gasly who leaves without points for the second consecutive weekend.

Very fast on Friday, Pierre Gasly did not hide his frustration on Saturday when he was eliminated in Q2. One of the rare times this season when the Frenchman did not make it into the Top 10.
With his hard tires, the Normand made a relatively mediocre start and found himself losing three positions.
Stuck in the middle of the pack, Pierre Gasly was never fast enough to overtake the drivers in front of him and just acted as a bottleneck for the faster cars behind him.
Having done 33 laps on his hard tires, AlphaTauri pitted his driver with medium tires. Coming out 16th, he quickly got rid of Nicholas Latifi and had Valtteri Bottas’ Mercedes in front of him.
He never finds an opening on the Finn and a late stop for intermediates at the end of the race sees him finish this Russian Grand Prix in a lowly 13th position.
« I spent the entire first relay with Bottas behind me. It was very complicated to overtake, we had a lot of tire degradation. We could have tried something when the rain arrived but we opted for a different strategy so we will try to draw conclusions from this weekend.
