For several years now, ecology has become one of the central topics in Formula 1. Even drivers Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel are launching numerous initiatives to encourage their sport to become more environmentally friendly.

With the objective of becoming totally carbon neutral by 2030, a large part of the research is carried out on engines so that they become at the forefront of ecological technology.

Therefore, in 2025, Formula 1 engines will use a new fuel that should not emit any CO2 emissions.

Developed in the laboratory, this fuel should offer power equivalent to current fuels but above all be a useful innovation for automotive production in general and not just the top category of motorsport.

Good news for the planet and for Formula 1, which would once again become the technological showcase it is supposed to be.

Alas, although it is important to innovate single-seaters as such, we must not forget that out of the 260,000 tons of CO2 emitted by Formula 1 every year, only 0.7% is the result of the cars driving. Indeed, the rest is mainly due to the travel between Grand Prix.
