Red Bull changes livery in Turkey
Red Bull and AlphaTauri will run with a special livery at the Turkish Grand Prix to celebrate their partnership with Honda. The Japanese firm will leave Formula 1 at the end of the season.

This weekend, in Istanbul, the two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will be decorated in tribute to the legendary Honda RA 272, the single-seater that allowed the Japanese brand to achieve its first Formula 1 victory during the Mexican Grand Prix in 1965. A way for Red Bull to honor its partner before the latter leaves the sport at the end of the year.
Team Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, opens up about this livery change on the official website of the Austrian team. We hoped to give Japanese Honda fans a chance to celebrate a partnership that has been very successful in Formula 1, during the Suzuka Grand Prix. Unfortunately, due to the current health crisis, the race in Japan had to be cancelled. Therefore, we couldn’t let this race weekend go by without paying tribute to Honda and its fans. Our livery salutes Honda’s incredible journey in Formula 1 and we hope to bring another victory to the fans with these legendary colors in Turkey.
Partners since 2019, Red Bull and Honda have claimed 35 podiums (including 13 wins) and eleven pole positions together, to date. AlphaTauri, which had started the alliance a year earlier with the Japanese (under the Toro Rosso name), also contributed by scoring four podiums in total (including two under the Toro Rosso era), with among them, Pierre Gasly’s victory at Monza in 2020.
