The Chinese Grand Prix extends its contract with F1
Formula 1 has decided to extend its contract with the Chinese Grand Prix until 2025. This Grand Prix is therefore kept in the calendar despite having been canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The Chinese Grand Prix, which takes place on the Shanghai International Circuit, was introduced to F1 in 2004. This Grand Prix, which has been absent from the calendar since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has managed to become a must-see event on the calendar. Unfortunately, this race will still be absent in 2022, again due to health conditions.
« Although we are all disappointed about not being able to include China in the 2022 calendar due to the current pandemic conditions, China will be reinstated in the calendar as soon as conditions allow, and we are looking forward to being back with the fans as soon as possible,” explains Stefano Domenicali, president of F1.
The return of the Chinese Grand Prix will not happen before the 2023 season, but Stefano Domenicali is pleased with the extension of this collaboration.
« It is great news for all our fans in China, and we are delighted to announce this agreement that will see us racing in Shanghai until 2025,” says Domenicali.
