Mexican Grand Prix – Ocon: We fought all race
Unfortunately for Esteban Ocon, this Mexican Grand Prix is a point-less race. A race that could have ended as early as the first lap for the Frenchman.

15th and 16th in qualifying, the Alpines were struggling a lot on Saturday in Mexico. Beating his teammate, Esteban Ocon could be satisfied with having extracted the most from his car.
On the other hand, in the race, the driver from Normandy was losing the advantage over his garage neighbor. Indeed, the Spanish driver took a great start and found himself propelled to 11th position while Esteban Ocon remained stuck in 15th position.
A very hot start for Esteban Ocon who was sandwiched between Yuki Tsunoda and Mick Schumacher. While the other two were forced to retire, the Alpine driver was lucky to get away without damage.
Stopping on the 15th lap, Esteban Ocon then becomes totally invisible from the race except for a nice overtake on George Russell at the end of the lap, allowing the Norman to finish 13th.
A disappointing performance considering Fernando Alonso’s 9th position, largely due to Alpine’s strategy of pitting their driver too early, which forced Ocon to extend his stint on hard tires.
« We fought throughout the race. We are not satisfied with the result because there are no points in the end, but still the car’s performance was not bad. The race was not perfect, and being stuck behind George Russell for a long time may have cost us a better result.
