Vettel displeased with his situation
Sebastian Vettel spoke about his situation at Aston Martin after the Mexican Grand Prix. The German mentioned how difficult it is to transition from a car capable of fighting for podiums to one that is battling in the midfield for points.
The German driver of Aston Martin is a regular on the podiums and victories, after being a four-time Formula 1 world champion with Red Bull. Sebastian Vettel then moved to Ferrari and continued to play for podiums and even world championship titles. But since his transfer to Aston Martin for this 2021 season, the German has not tasted victory again.
Translate: « Maybe I am spoiled, I have gotten used to winning and being at the front. », Vettel explains to Sky Sports.
Often in the battle in the middle of the pack for the best possible positions in the top 10, but rarely in the top 5, Vettel admits that he is no longer having fun.
« The satisfaction when you cross the finish line is simply not the same. », he confides.
Translate: « Now, you are the driver and you get an eighth or a 10th place and you feel that you have done a very good race, no mistakes, but it’s 10th, it’s ninth, it’s eighth, it’s not really what I am here for. »
But the 2022 season brings its share of changes and could allow Aston Martin to catch up with the other cars in the paddock. Especially since Aston Martin’s goal is no secret, they want to compete for victories and world titles within a few seasons.
