Vasseur irritated by Giovinazzi’s comments
After the announcement of Antonio Giovinazzi's departure, the Italian driver expressed himself on his social networks by saying that money dictates the rules. In this specific case, he is echoing the arrival of Guanyu Zhou and his sponsors to replace him.

The team principal of Alfa Romeo, Frédéric Vasseur, reacted to the comments made by Giovinazzi following his departure from the team at the end of the season. The Frenchman was annoyed by what the Italian said after spending 3 seasons in Formula 1.
« I saw the comments. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of this kind of attitude: also because the team (Alfa Romeo) gave him the chance to do three seasons in F1. Tons of drivers would have dreamed of doing it. », explains Frédéric Vasseur to Will Buxton’s microphone.
Vasseur concludes by explaining that the world of F1 is small and one must be careful of the words that are spoken.
« Now, Giovinazzi will face other challenges. He will have to succeed in this new challenge, and maybe he will come back to F1 in the future. But it’s a small world and we have to remain professional.
So even if the Italian leaves at the end of the season, just like his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, he still has 3 races left to try to finish the season well with Alfa Romeo. A season that has not always been easy for Giovinazzi with only 1 point collected in 19 Grand Prix races this season.
