As three Grand Prix, including the upcoming one in Qatar, remain before the end of the championship, the tension continues to rise.

Mercedes had requested a review of the incident involving Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, hoping for a penalty for the championship leader.

As a reminder: Lewis Hamilton, at a meteoric pace, attempted to pass Verstappen on the outside at Turn 4. The Dutchman delayed his braking to the point of going wide and taking the Mercedes No. 44 with him off track limits. Verstappen was then warned with a black and white flag.

The first decision of the FIA, not to penalize the Red Bull driver, was already final. The verdict was announced this Friday, just after the end of the first free practice sessions in Doha.

Max Verstappen’s onboard camera was Mercedes’ main argument to make their case. The FIA did not consider it significant.
