Mercedes’ aerodynamics chief signs with Aston Martin
Aston Martin continues to recruit, this time it's Éric Blandin's turn. The chief aerodynamicist at Mercedes will join Aston Martin at the end of the 2022 F1 season.

Lawrence Stroll continues his momentum with Aston Martin. The team owner has recruited Eric Blandin, chief aerodynamics engineer at Mercedes. The latter previously worked for Red Bull and Ferrari before joining Mercedes. He has now been working for Mercedes for more than a decade.
We can confirm that Eric Blandin will start working for the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 team next year,” an Aston Martin spokesperson said.
This arrival announced by Aston Martin clearly shows the team’s ambition to compete at the top of the table in a few years. The agreement between the two teams does not yet mention the exact date of its departure for Aston Martin.
Its exact departure date is not yet confirmed. The transition from the Mercedes AMG F1 team to ourselves will be amicable.
As a reminder, the team has recruited no less than 150 people this year and is currently building its new High Tech factory near the Silverstone circuit.
