Sir Frank Williams has passed away
It is a very sad news that has just reached us this Sunday, November 28: Frank Williams, founder of the legendary team bearing his name, has passed away at the age of 79.
It is an essential figure in the world of Formula 1 who left us this morning. Frank Williams, after handing over to Jost Capito in the British team, passed away peacefully after being admitted to the hospital on Friday.
The Williams team, on behalf of his family, confirmed the death of the former English driver:
« It is with immense sadness that we inform you that Sir Frank passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by his loved ones.
We want, today, to pay tribute to our cherished and inspiring standard-bearer. Frank will be terribly missed. We ask all our friends and colleagues to respect the family’s wish for privacy during this difficult time.
A tribute will undoubtedly be paid to Sir Frank Williams before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday, December 5th.
