Hamilton has still not tested the 2022 car in the simulator
In the midst of the title battle, Lewis Hamilton admits he has not yet tested his 2022 car and does not plan to do so in the near future.

The 2021 season is approaching its end with two races remaining on the calendar, which will open a new era for F1. Indeed, with the major rule changes for 2022, drivers will discover cars that are completely different from this year.
However, Hamilton has not started testing his car in the simulator. The Briton is focused on the championship against Max Verstappen for the F1 title. And even though several drivers have already tested their cars in virtual simulator, the seven-time world champion does not feel the need, mentioning a car that is still constantly evolving.
Translate: « I didn’t drive the car in the simulator because I literally focused on this year’s, it was a workload difficult enough as it is. », explains Lewis Hamilton to Motorsport.com.
« For the moment, with the progress she is making in the wind tunnel, there is no point in driving the car as she is on a steep learning curve. »
But even if Hamilton has not yet tested his 2022 car, he remains very involved in its design and what he would like to have on his car.
« I am in constant contact with the team. Even after our races, I always say: “This is where our car is right now, and these are the things I want on next year’s car, keep an eye on these things”, declares Hamilton.
However, before the 2022 season, F1 still has to determine its 2021 champion following the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
