Schumacher will always be the best for Sebastian Vettel
Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of adding a new record to his list of achievements at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He is set to become the only F1 driver with 8 world championship titles, surpassing the legend Michael Schumacher.

It’s a historic Grand Prix coming up, with a showdown at the top between the two title contenders, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. For Aston Martin’s driver, Sebastian Vettel, a victory for Verstappen would be welcome. Thus, the record of 7 world championships won by his idol and mentor Michael Schumacher would be preserved, tying with Hamilton.
Michael is my hero. For this reason, I probably don’t want Lewis to win, Sebastian Vettel said.
But even if Hamilton were to win an eighth world champion title, Schumacher will always remain the best for Vettel.
« In a way, I would be happy if Michael’s record still stands, but even if Lewis wins, for me, Michael is still the best. If Lewis can win one more, two more, three more, five more, it doesn’t change anything for me. And I get along well with Lewis. »
« So, as I said, it’s probably instinct telling me that I want Max to win just to keep Michael’s record alive. But my head is clear enough, may the best man win. », explains Vettel.
The record of the legend Schumacher still stands, but for how long?
