Aramco becomes Aston Martin’s second title sponsor

For an F1 team, attracting a title sponsor is already a great achievement. So to get two is a very rare accomplishment. However, that's exactly what Aston Martin has just achieved.

Aston Martin is making a lot of noise off the track. Indeed, the team, acquired by Lawrence Stroll, has made numerous recruitments in order to climb back up the hierarchy after settling for a disappointing seventh place in 2021. Its significant drop in the rankings can be explained by the regulatory changes that have particularly affected it.

The British team has also managed to completely renew its portfolio of sponsors inherited from the previous owner, with the arrival of numerous new companies, starting with Cognizant as the title sponsor. This trend will not fade in 2022, as the green brand has just announced a second title sponsor. And not just any, as it is none other than Aramco, the Saudi Arabian oil company!

The partnership will be technical and commercial as the Saudi company will not only display its logo on large parts of the race cars but will also provide the fuels and lubricants used throughout the season.

Lance’s father took the opportunity to reiterate his ambitions: “We are in this sport to win. So, I am thrilled to welcome an incredible partner like Aramco. During this process, I discovered that they have impressive technical capabilities and significant intellectual property. This will greatly help our team achieve our goals of winning Formula 1 world championships. Our historic partnership highlights the scale of our ambitions to make our team a pioneering and winning force in Formula 1.”
