The blue and pink Alpine reveals itself
Two days before the first winter tests in Barcelona, Alpine unveiled its A522. The pink of BWT was also highly anticipated.

For its second year in F1, Alpine has unveiled its new race car. It will enable Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso to defend the chances of the French team.
The 2021 season ended with a 5th place finish in the championship. French fans remember Esteban Ocon’s victory in Hungary. As for Fernando Alonso, he made his return to the podium, finishing 3rd in Qatar.
But the manufacturer from Dieppe intends to challenge the leading pack thanks to the new regulations.
First and foremost, the livery: some wondered how much space BWT’s pink would take on the Alpine. The first clue was given on the suits of Ocon, Alonso, and Oscar Piastri, the test driver: the blue suits left ample room for pink.
But the car, contrary to fears, was not going to be all pink. It must even be admitted that BWT goes well with the overall look! The company is displayed on the front wing and on the side pods. The work on the livery has been carefully done.
From a technical standpoint, the A522 has some peculiarities: first, the front end remains true to the 2021 design philosophy, with a slim and rounded tip. The side pods are noticeably flat, featuring several air intakes on top. The engine cover, on the other hand, also incorporates air intakes, inspired by Aston Martin’s style. The ones on the side pods are thin and elongated horizontally.
The A522 will hit the track in two days, in Barcelona, for the first winter tests of the season.
