Sebastian Vettel calls for a boycott of the Russian Grand Prix
While Russia has just declared war on Ukraine, Sebastian Vettel called for a boycott of the Sochi Grand Prix. The German received support from the new world champion, Max Verstappen.

While the drivers are currently in Barcelona for pre-season testing, the geopolitical world is becoming increasingly tense. In the aftermath of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, the entire paddock has had strong reactions to this matter.
The most intense one was that of Sebastian Vettel, who revealed to be shocked by these attacks. The four-time world champion also stated that he would not participate in the race in Russia if F1 were to go there.
« It’s horrible to see what’s happening. Obviously, if you look at the calendar, we have a race scheduled in Russia. Speaking for myself, I don’t think I should go, so I won’t. I don’t think we should be racing in this country. I’m really sorry for all the innocent people who are dying for stupid reasons, because of the bizarre decisions of a crazy leader.

The Aston Martin driver received support from Max Verstappen while adding that racing in a war-torn country is not a good thing.
On its part, Formula 1 closely monitors the ever-changing development of the situation, but for now, it has not made any decision and has not made any comment.
