The Russian Grand Prix suspended
The war between Russia and Ukraine has had its first impact: the Russian Grand Prix has had its holding suspended.

The conflict in Eastern Europe was a subject of questions, given the impact of geopolitics on Formula 1.
In the case of Russia, its entry into war against Ukraine posed a problem: on one hand for the future of Nikita Mazepin, and on the other hand for the Russian leg of the calendar, scheduled for September 25th.
This one, after Sebastian Vettel’s calls for a boycott, has been cancelled, at least as long as the circumstances persist. It remains to be seen the upcoming effects of the conflict and its evolution.
This season will therefore not be the longest in history, with 22 Grand Prix instead of 23.
The last time a Grand Prix was canceled due to a conflict was in 2011: the Bahrain Grand Prix couldn’t take place because of the Arab Spring.
