Just a few weeks away from the start of the season, no one can say what the starting order will be when the lights go out in Bahrain. The performances seen in Barcelona during the first three days of winter testing are difficult to interpret due to the different testing strategies implemented by each team. However, it is possible to rely on the feedback of the drivers to get an idea of the strengths at play.

Pierre Gasly opened up to formula1.com to express his confidence following the first laps with the AT03. He said, “I have to say that I was super excited with this new car to understand how it would perform and what my feelings would be inside. And it has been very pleasant and very positive as soon as the car came out of the box. I immediately felt confident in the car and it responded exactly as I wished. Of course, there are still many things to work on, but it was a very pleasant start.”

Nevertheless, the last Catalan day of the French driver had to be shortened due to an accident in the morning: Unfortunately, I locked my wheels during a run and damaged the car. But testing allows us to push the limits and we are able to process a significant amount of data after these three days of testing.

The native of Rouen and his team are now turning to the next testing session in Bahrain, which will take place from March 10th to 12th.
