Magnussen on Haas’ shortlist to replace Mazepin

This name is that of a well-known driver in the paddock as it is Kevin Magnussen. He left Formula 1 at the end of 2020 after four seasons with Haas alongside Romain Grosjean. Unable to continue his Formula 1 adventure, the Danish driver turned to Endurance racing by joining the American IMSA championship with Chip Ganassi Racing. Moreover, he is part of the Peugeot drivers who are supposed to compete in the WEC season this year, marking the great return of the French manufacturer to the circuits.
According to the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, contacts have already been made between Magnussen and Haas. Recently, Gene Haas, the team owner, revealed that he wanted a driver with experience in at least one of his cars. Three names stand out according to the boss’s criteria: Magnussen, the former Alfa Romeo driver who has converted to Formula E, Antonio Giovinazzi, and Aston Martin’s third driver, Nico Hülkenberg. The advantage of Jan Magnussen’s son is that he already knows how the American team operates.
