« McLaren F1 Team confirms that after testing positive for COVID-19 last week, Daniel has now completed a number of negative tests and will therefore be back in the paddock on Thursday, ready to participate in the Bahrain GP this weekend. Daniel has been feeling better each day as he continued to recover in isolation, in accordance with the local legislation in Bahrain », McLaren stated in a brief statement posted on social media.
The Australian will start the season at a disadvantage compared to his teammates. Indeed, he only participated in the Barcelona tests and was unable to drive in Sakhir. But his experience could be of great help to him.
