The FIA is going to create a position to support the race director
After the fiasco of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the FIA will create a position for a sporting director to assist the race director.

Following Michael Masi’s controversial decision during the title-deciding Grand Prix in 2021, the Australian was removed by the FIA as part of their restructuring plan. He was subsequently replaced by Eduardo Freitas and Niels Wittich.
To complete the FIA’s organizational chart, a new position has been created by the federation, that of sports director. Their role will be to oversee the drafting of future sports and technical regulations. This is a task that the race director used to perform.
For now, no one has been appointed, but the recruitment processes would already have been validated.
