Fernando Alonso disappointed with his season’s start
Following his retirement in Jeddah, Fernando Alonso only has two points in the drivers' standings.

This weekend, Alpine and Fernando Alonso could have made a big move. While the Spaniard was in seventh place, his car broke down, forcing him to retire.
“It’s disappointing to only have two points after two excellent weekends. The pace seems to be a little bit better than the results suggest. And we’ve given away points to the people behind us. The road is long, luck will turn. Hopefully, we’ll receive some of these gifts in the future,” he says.
Fernando Alonso believes that without this blank result, he would occupy a higher position in the standings. « I am happy with the performances, but as I said, we have lost some points. I think I could be sixth or seventh in the championship, to be honest. I am not in that position, and it’s not because we lack merit. It’s just because we haven’t maximized the points. I think we have lost too many. »
