The F1 will be heading to Las Vegas starting in 2023
It is now official. After Austin and Miami, the United States will host a third Formula 1 Grand Prix starting in 2023. This one will take place in the world gambling capital: LAS VEGAS!

As we announced a few weeks ago, Las Vegas will indeed host a Formula 1 Grand Prix starting in 2023. This Grand Prix will be the third on the calendar to take place in the United States, alongside Austin and Miami. It will be held at night, over the Thanksgiving weekend from November 23rd to 25th, and importantly, it will take place on Saturday instead of the traditional Sunday.

With a length of 6.12 kilometers, the future route will take the city’s main arteries, including the iconic Strip, and top speeds are estimated to be over 340 km/h. There will be 50 race laps, three long straight lines, and 14 turns, including a section of fast turns and a chicane.

This will be the third time that Formula 1 will visit Las Vegas. In 1981 and 1982, the Grand Prix took place at the Caesars Palace parking lot. It was won the first year by Alan Jones’ Williams and the second year by Michele Alboreto’s Tyrrell. It will also be the 12th circuit to host Formula 1 in the United States and the 17th new circuit to join the World Championship in the 21st century.
In a statement, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali reacted to this announcement: “This is an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the enormous appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the USA. Las Vegas is a destination known worldwide for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, its famous Strip. There is no better place for Formula 1 to race than in the entertainment capital of the world, and we are looking forward to being here next year.”
