The Miami Grand Prix is making its appearance on the calendar this season. The race, scheduled to take place between May 6th and 8th, may not go as planned. According to information reported by the Miami Herald, residents of the surrounding neighborhoods have initiated a procedure to cancel the event.

The noise pollution caused by Formula 1 races will cause serious disruptions and physical damage to the residents of Miami Gardens, according to the plaintiffs. They are relying on figures from an engineering company that estimates noise levels of up to 97 decibels in houses within a 3.5 km radius. The residents have gathered to protest in front of Miami Gardens City Hall.

The lawyers of both parties called on Judge Alan Fine not to make any decision before the city has decided whether or not to grant a permit for special events at the Grand Prix. They believe that it is the city’s jurisdiction, not the court’s, to decide if the noise violates the rules set regarding noise pollution.

The magistrate, for his part, expressed his frustration at having to examine the issue so quickly. We are in uncertainty, and this situation is very uncomfortable, Alan Fine complained to the Miami Herald. The judge announced that he will render his decision next Monday.
