Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna – Key figures
The fourth round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship takes place this weekend on the legendary Imola circuit. Here are some numbers to know about this Grand Prix.

4,909: This is the exact distance of a full lap of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari.
3: Like the number of winners on the Imola circuit. Fernando Alonso triumphed in 2005 under the name “San Marino Grand Prix.” Then Lewis Hamilton in 2021 and Max Verstappen last year each achieved a victory on this Italian soil.
63: This will be the number of laps to be completed by the future winner of the Grand Prix and their pursuers.
1.14’411: The time set last year by Lewis Hamilton to secure pole position. However, this is not the circuit record, which still belongs to Valtteri Bottas with a time of 1.13’609 during his pole position the previous year.
6: This is the number of drivers who have climbed onto the podium at Imola at least once. In addition to the three previous mentioned winners, there are three others who have achieved a place on the podium. Valtteri Bottas on Mercedes in 2020, as well as Daniel Ricciardo for Renault. Lastly, the brilliant Lando Norris finished in 3rd place in the race last year.
7: The number of victories by Michael Schumacher on this circuit. This obviously constitutes a record.
30: This weekend we will attend the 30th edition of a Grand Prix in Imola as part of the Formula 1 World Championship. After a 14-year absence, it returned in 2020, and this will be the third event under the name “Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix”.
2025: …And the good news for Italian aficionados is obviously the recent extension of Imola on the F1 calendar! Italians will have the right to two Grand Prix races per year with Monza, at least until 2025.
19: The number of turns that the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari contains. It used to have 21 turns, but the last chicane was removed when the circuit returned to the calendar in 2020.
