Mattia Binotto remains cautious after Ferrari’s strong start to the season
The boss of Scuderia Ferrari urges caution after his team's strong start to the season. He also takes the opportunity to justify the extension of Carlos Sainz's contract.

Mattia Binotto does not yet wish to draw conclusions about his team’s first races of the season. The Italian believes that it is still too early to be pleased with the situation.
« We are aware that there is still a long way to go before the end of the season. It is too early to make a first assessment. We are happy with the feeling of leading the championship. But we must remain cautious.

The boss of Maranello also wanted to highlight the main difficulty that his team encounters: the famous “porpoising”. « We have been suffering from “porpoising” since winter testing. It’s not the best situation, especially for the drivers for whom it is very uncomfortable. Are the others suffering from it more than us? I don’t know. »
Finally, he took the opportunity to give the reasons for Carlos Sainz’s contract extension: « We are satisfied with Carlos. He is performing well. It was the right time to look towards the future. We can now build for the future. I don’t think he is experiencing any problems at the moment. He is getting faster and faster. He is very close to Charles in terms of performance. »
