Gasly: “The dinner with Jordan, the best experience of my life”
Pierre Gasly discussed his meeting with Michael Jordan during the Miami Grand Prix.
Coming to Miami, American sports seem to attract the world of Formula 1. Tom Brady with Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda in a Swamp Buggy… Pierre Gasly did not deviate from the norm, as the Frenchman treated himself to a dinner with NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

The meeting lasted three hours, during which the Chicago Bulls star signed his pair of Jordans and even wore the Normand helmet. « I gave him one of my helmets, he signed one of my Jordans; so it will stay safe at my place, in my trophy cabinet! »
“It was by far the best experience of my life,” declares Gasly. “The most inspiring dinner I have ever had. Ever since I was a child, I have always been inspired by this man, his mentality, and his successes throughout the years. Everyone says you should never meet your idol because you can only be disappointed, but it was completely the opposite. This guy is just a genius, on another level, the way he thinks. I was very, very impressed.”
Jordan also admitted his passion for Formula 1 to him. « I didn’t know he was such a big F1 fan. He knows almost as much about the sport as I do! It was very impressive and awesome to chat with such a legend. It was a great dinner, I will remember it for the rest of my life. »
Michael Jordan became the owner of a NASCAR team at the end of 2020. When Pierre Gasly was offered to drive one of his NASCAR cars one day, here was the Frenchman’s response: « It can happen, it can happen. (e)
In the meantime, Pierre Gasly will have to focus on the Grand Prix this weekend in Miami, in hopes of scoring some points after a less than optimal start to the season for both him and AlphaTauri.
