Sainz reacts to his accident with the Ferrari in Miami’s FP2
The Spanish driver had limited track time this Friday due to several mistakes on the track.

Carlos Sainz’s Floridian weekend is not going as planned. During the first free practice session, the Spaniard spun off the track in a very fast section, causing a puncture in one of his tires.
During the second session, things didn’t improve as the Ferrari driver made a mistake in the section that goes under the highway. These two events greatly annoyed Charles Leclerc’s teammate.
« Obviously, it’s not the best way to start the weekend, as a spin-out has cost us dearly and I finished my Friday early. However, I believe the car is competitive and I am confident in our performance », he told our colleagues at F1only.fr.
« There’s no point in dwelling on today, so we will focus all our attention on tomorrow and the race. The extra work for the mechanics is the worst for me, of course I will talk to them as well as the rest of the team. »
Spanish is not the only driver lacking track time, as Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen also spent the afternoon in the pits and couldn’t go for a drive.
