Esteban Ocon will not participate in qualifying
The French driver will be forced to stay in the pits during qualifying following his crash during free practice 3.

It’s a real blow for Esteban Ocon. Having made a mistake in the twisty section of the Miami track, just like Carlos Sainz the day before, the Frenchman won’t be able to take part in the qualifying session.
The impact has cracked his chassis and his car cannot be repaired in time, as stated by the team on social media. We unfortunately confirm that Esteban will not be participating in the qualifying this afternoon. His chassis was cracked during the impact with the wall and cannot be replaced in time. Esteban is physically fit and will race tomorrow.

Frustration must be the case for the Frenchman who had managed to take his Alpine to the ninth position during free practice 2, yesterday. During the last session, his teammate Fernando Alonso achieved the fourth fastest time.
He could have hoped for a good spot on the grid, but will be forced, unless another driver encounters a problem, to start from the last position. His team could also make some adjustments, which would require him to start from the pit lane.
