Just like Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo and Kevin Magnussen also received a 5-second penalty at the end of the Miami Grand Prix.

The Australian driver has been found guilty of not respecting article 33.3 of the FIA International Sporting Code, which states that a driver must not leave the track without justifiable reason. The reason: the McLaren driver exceeded the track limits at turn 12, while gaining an advantage. In addition to a 5-second penalty, he also loses 1 point on his super license. It should be noted that without this penalty, Ricciardo would have finished 10th thanks to the penalty received by Alonso. He ultimately finishes 13th.

For Magnussen, the reason is different. The Danish driver has been found guilty of not respecting part d) of Article 2 of Chapter IV of the FIA International Sporting Code. The latter states that a lack of control of the car can result in a penalty. As a result, he was deemed responsible for contact with Lance Stroll at turn 11, causing the Canadian driver to go off track. Like Ricciardo, he also receives a penalty on his super license, but two points are deducted from him. The Haas driver finishes 16th.
