Ralf Schumacher thinks that the Spanish Grand Prix will be very challenging for Sebastian Vettel, especially due to the performances of his AMR 22.

Sebastian Vettel is not experiencing an optimal start to the season. Only four small points in five races, due in particular to a particularly underperforming AMR 22 in the early Grand Prix. Alongside this, his body language seems to indicate a certain weariness of Formula 1 for many.

One particularly remembers the scooter incident in Australia, which resulted in a fine for Vettel. On the same weekend in Melbourne, upon his return after missing the first two races due to Covid, the German completely lost his footing, with a surprising number of mistakes and accidents throughout the three days.

The four-time world champion himself indicated in an interview for British television that he was questioning the relevance of his presence in the category, especially regarding climate-related issues that differ from his beliefs.

Facing this new Grand Prix weekend in Spain, Ralf Schumacher predicts a very difficult weekend for Vettel, largely due to the performance of his car. It will be a disastrous weekend for Sebastian Vettel, I’m sure of it. All the weaknesses of the Aston Martin will be exposed in Barcelona. Unless he does a rain dance. But I don’t see much for him in dry conditions.

For Schumacher, if Vettel decides to leave Aston Martin at the end of the season, no other team will want the German. I doubt he will have the chance [to go to another team]. Formula 1 moves so quickly, so many guys are in the mix. Sebastian is still at a decent level, but he simply isn’t the future. If a team reorients itself, it won’t do so with Sebastian.

Meet up this weekend to find out if the former Toyota driver’s intuition is confirmed.
