Towards a more logical calendar in 2023?
The F1 could review the order of the Grand Prix in the calendar in 2023. The goal is to classify them by geographical regions to avoid unnecessary and costly travels.

This season, some Grand Prix sequences may seem geographically illogical: Miami between Imola and Barcelona, or the journey between Baku and Montreal in just one week.
These long trips are extremely expensive for the teams and are far from being in line with the ecological ambitions (see magazine). A climate issue that F1 still wants to defend since 2019 and the establishment of the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Change starting from 2023?
Faced with these contradictions, Formula 1 is considering grouping certain Grand Prix races by regions. Nothing has been officially announced yet, but some ideas are already circulating in the paddock. It is said, in particular, that the Miami Grand Prix could be associated with the Canadian Grand Prix. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, on the other hand, could potentially be added to a series of races that also includes Japan and China.
The Middle East Grand Prix could be classified in pairs. The Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix would remain linked, as they were this year, at the beginning of the season. The arrival of the Qatar Grand Prix, on the other hand, could be an opportunity to associate it with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the very end of the season.
The objective remains to reduce travel costs for teams and the carbon footprint of Formula 1 in the years to come. These changes could already provide a more logical calendar. It remains to be seen if other changes are planned and/or will be implemented for 2023.
