Alpine brings a new floor to Monaco
Otmar Szafnauer confirmed that the French team is bringing a new improvement to the floor of the A522 this weekend.

Last weekend in Spain, Alpine brought some updates to its A522. A new front wing as well as a new rear wing were part of the package in Barcelona. This weekend in Monaco, the French team is also introducing an evolution, this time to the floor of their car.
News that should delight drivers, particularly Esteban Ocon, who, after the Spanish Grand Prix, was pushing his team to bring more upgrades to the A522 in order to compete with the more successful teams ahead of them.
It is Otmar Szafnauer himself who confirmed the information, while already planning the next areas of improvement for Alpine. During the next race, we will have a new floor for approximately four races. The biggest area of aerodynamic development at the moment is the floor. In addition, we will include more things, like a new chassis.
In the face of different development rhythm strategies, Szafnauer believes that everything depends on the budget cap. « Some teams have strategies and everything depends on budget limitations. It may be less expensive to incorporate all the learnings into a single evolution than to bring small improvements with each race. As for us, as soon as we discover something new, we design and bring it to the track. Our strategy is not based on accumulation and then design. »
