Since the beginning of the season, rumors about a possible departure of Sebastian Vettel from Aston Martin (and more generally from Formula 1) have been intensifying. While many see in Vettel a desire to leave the top category through his behavior and what his body language suggests, there is no confirmation that the German will not be on the grid next year.

Faced with these rumors, Aston Martin CEO Mike Krack reacted by confirming his desire to keep the four-time world champion. When you have someone like Sebastian, you have to try to keep him. He is a blend of extreme driving skill, experience, and a very positive person who helps us progress.

Krack also sees no signs of Vettel’s weariness towards Formula 1. « If you see him in a debriefing or on the phone, you can see how involved he is. No one drives like that when they don’t want to drive. »

The director of Aston Martin has however confirmed that the team is keeping an eye on every Formula 1 driver, especially on Mick Schumacher who is part of the most persistent rumors, even though the latter is going through a difficult phase according to him.

We know that Sebastian Vettel is questioning the relevance of his presence in Formula 1, particularly in regards to the environment, which has become his main fight now. If the German truly has desires elsewhere, this praise from his team director may perhaps help convince him to continue the adventure within Lawrence Stroll’s team.
