Ferrari is concerned about reliability issues
In Monaco, Ferrari engines once again faced reliability issues, following Charles Leclerc's retirement in Barcelona.

At the start of the season, Red Bull encountered numerous reliability issues. Max Verstappen retired from two out of the first three races, losing valuable points to his main championship rival, Charles Leclerc. Since then, the Dutchman and Sergio Pérez seem to have been spared from mechanical failures, at least during the races.
It is now Ferrari that seems more prone to engine problems. After Charles Leclerc’s retirement in Barcelona, while he was on his way to victory, Monaco also saw Ferrari engines, especially the Italian brand’s MGU-K, struggling with reliability issues among customer teams.
“The reliability is always a concern,” stated Mattia Binotto, who expresses concern about these mechanical issues. “And when something happens, it’s never great. So it worries us. We are looking at what happened [in Spain]. And sometimes, you have clear explanations. This can be caused by external accidents. This can be caused by exceptional circumstances. Others can therefore be a real concern.”
Binotto provides some clarifications on the resolution of the problem encountered by Leclerc in Barcelona. « What can I tell you? Not much! We conducted the analysis. We failed and damaged the turbo and the MGU-H, so they will not be repaired. Obviously, we found the cause, we fixed it for Monaco, for the upcoming races, and that’s all I can tell you. »
Ferrari is now behind in the constructors’ standings as well as in the drivers’ standings with Charles Leclerc. Losing more points due to mechanical problems in the upcoming races could definitely turn the tide in favor of Red Bull.
