Jim Clark, David Coulthard, Paul di Resta, and of course, the triple World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart. The common point among all these drivers: they are all Scottish! These names definitely ring a bell if you know the history of our sport. To celebrate the 83rd birthday of the Formula 1 legend, a festival retracing the great career of the driver is being organized over the weekend of June 18th and 19th. All proceeds from the event will go to the Race against Dementia foundation.

The genesis of the event.

In early 2021, Sir Jackie Stewart and Edward Maitland Carew, from Thirlestane Castle, had a discussion about organizing a charity dinner at Thirlestane to support the Race Against Dementia foundation, coinciding with the BVAC Classic Car Show. After visiting Thirlestane Castle, Sir Jackie saw the potential of the event and came up with the idea of going beyond a simple dinner and organizing a very special classic car festival – with the intention of making it the biggest car festival in Scotland. All funds raised will be donated to the Race Against Dementia association, which works to fight against dementia and related diseases.
