Horner would find the arrival of Porsche and Audi in Formula 1 “fantastic”
Christian Horner showed great enthusiasm for the likely arrival of Porsche and Audi in Formula 1. The Red Bull boss expressed his willingness to discuss with both German brands.

The rumors of Porsche and Audi’s arrival in Formula 1 have been circulating in the paddock for several months. The two brands, owned by the Volkswagen group, would be willing to arrive by 2026. They would enter as engine suppliers, and several teams would be interested in forming a partnership.
Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin, had confirmed discussions with the two German brands. Christian Horner, on the other hand, welcomed the arrival of two “iconic” automotive names and revealed that he would also enter into discussions with them.
« I think it’s fantastic that they’re talking about coming into Formula 1. These are iconic brands – the Porsche brand is particularly iconic. It would make sense to have conversations with them after they’ve declared their intention to enter the sport. » rejoiced the Red Bull boss.
The Austrian team could be tempted to make a deal with one of the two entities to provide them with an engine. Red Bull has been an independent engine supplier since this season, after Honda’s departure.
The first steps as “Red Bull Powertrains” were difficult with three retirements out of the four cars equipped with this power unit at the first Grand Prix of the season.
An agreement could therefore be win-win as Volkswagen CEO, Herbert Diess, stated that entering this sport would allow both companies to increase their sales through the development of Formula 1 in the United States and China.
