After two years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Canadian Grand Prix is making its return to the calendar this year to the delight of Formula 1 fans and drivers. With its straight lines interrupted by fast chicanes and tight corners, the Gilles Villeneuve circuit often offers exciting races, some of which have made history in the sport.

In 2022, the Canadian Grand Prix will change its title sponsor. After Heineken in 2018 and Pirelli in 2019, it will be the company Amazon Web Services (AWS) that will have its name attached to the title of the Montreal race. Amazon Web Services is a division of the American online commerce giant Amazon, specializing in on-demand cloud computing services for businesses and individuals.

Formula 1 has now made a habit of multiplying sponsors for World Championship events. The names of the Grand Prix are mostly associated with a company. The increased visibility of F1 across the world allows these companies to reach a larger audience. This season, for example, Gulf Air (Bahrain Grand Prix), Rolex (Australian Grand Prix), and Crypto.com (Miami Grand Prix) have been title sponsors of a Grand Prix.
