New podium for George Russell in Baku: “Thank you to the entire garage”
George Russell continues his impressive streak of Top 5 finishes and secures another podium this year, placing himself once again ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
Following a solitary race in 3rd position, and aided by Ferrari’s double retirement, George Russell continues his momentum and brings home another podium for Mercedes. However, he did not wish to express himself much. He simply wanted to thank his team.
After the race, he stated: “Thank you to everyone in Brackley and everyone in the garage, they did a great job today, there were some challenging moments with the bumps, but we are really happy with this third place.”
George Russell is closing in on Charles Leclerc once again and is now just 17 points behind the Monegasque driver. It is not impossible that Mercedes will continue their momentum and make a comeback in the championship fight.
