According to the information from De Telegraaf, Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali is going to visit South Africa this week between the Azerbaijan and Canadian Grand Prix to discuss the return of the Kyalami circuit to the calendar.

Discussions have been ongoing for several months between the decision-making bodies of the sport and the circuit organizers. Kyalami could make a comeback to the calendar as early as next year, along with the Chinese Grand Prix.

“> The discussions would already be at an advanced stage.”

The track can count on the support of many drivers, including Lewis Hamilton who considers it important for the sport to go there, and Max Verstappen who had declared that the most important thing for me is to go back to racing in South Africa. I think there is a large audience there, and I think it would be great to highlight how beautiful the homeland is.

The Kyalami circuit is no stranger to Formula 1 as it has hosted 20 Grand Prix races between 1967 and 1993. The most recent winner is Alain Prost, but the Frenchman could have a successor as early as next year.
