Hamilton confirms his presence in Canada
After a very physically challenging Azerbaijan Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton, the British driver has confirmed his presence at the Canadian Grand Prix next weekend.

It was the shocking image of the weekend, Lewis Hamilton in the Parc Fermé, trying to get out of his car. The Brit took a few minutes to extract himself from his single-seater, physically exhausted and experiencing severe back pain. He later confirmed that he was suffering tremendously from his back, and there were doubts about his participation in the next Grand Prix.
The next day, Lewis Hamilton nevertheless confirmed his presence with a post on Twitter: « Yesterday was really tough, and I had difficulty sleeping, but I woke up feeling positive today. My back is sore and bruised, but nothing serious, fortunately. I had an acupuncture session with my physio and Ang (Angela Cullings, editor’s note) and I’m on my way to join my team to help them move forward. We have to keep fighting. There is no time like the present to stand together and make progress. I will be there next weekend, I wouldn’t miss it for anything. Wishing you all a good day and a good week.”
Lewis Hamilton won the last edition of the Canadian Grand Prix in 2019, and it is also here that he secured his first victory in 2007. With the long straights of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, Mercedes hopes to have found a solution to its setbacks.
